EMERGENCY RENT ASSISTANCE (EA) is a one-time payment that can help parents with limited income pay emergency housing or utility-related expenses such as a security deposit on a new apartment if you’ve been evicted. To get started, please visit in-person to complete an application and bring a valid ID. You can also visit www.access.wisconsin.gov and create an ACCESS account to apply. Once the application process has begun, a letter to your landlord informing them that assistance is underway can be provided. The goal of EA is to get help to you quickly. If you provide the W2 agency all the information they need, and are eligible, a payment can be issued within five business days of the date of application.
