    We help Veterans who are homeless or at risk of becoming homeless due to financial hardship, unemployment, addiction, depression, or transition from jail. Contact one of our care coordinators to get help with: Immediate food and shelter needs, including both transitional and permanent housing, job training, life skills development, and education, justice system navigation and community reentry from jail, financial support to prevent homelessness, addiction and depression treatment, as well as health and dental care.

    Founded and run by veterans, MHVI's mission is to help homeless and at-risk veterans reach and maintain their highest levels of independence. 

    M-F 9am-4pm. Walk-ups are welcome, but we recommend calling ahead at 414-257-4111 to schedule a pick-up of food and other supplies.

    MHVI also runs the Veterans Resource Post (VRP), a store-like environment when veterans can access full-scale children’s department, pet corner with food and toys, clothes, shoes, personal hygiene items, accessories and more.

    Your MilwaukeeCounty Veterans Service Officer (CVSO), is whom you can contact to find out if you or your family are qualified for local, state and federal Veterans' benefits. CVSOs work with the United States Department of Veterans Affairs, the Wisconsin Department of Veterans Affairs and other Veterans Service Organizations to make sure you get all the Veteran benefits you are eligible for.

    VetsNet advocates for ALL veterans and Military families seeking assistance to eliminate confusion and barriers to provide open access to resources. VetsNet assists veterans with housing needs, jobs, counseling, and helps find emergency relief.

    HAVEN’s mission is to support, encourage, and assist in the development of mutually beneficial relationships between veterans and dogs. At this time we teach veterans to train a dog of their own to be a service dog. Our goal for the future is to also provide fully trained service dogs.
